Our child sponsor program is committed to fighting for and restoring the only thing that will ultimately end the orphan crisis: Family.
See all children waiting for sponsorsHelp us reunite orphaned and vulnerable children with their families and join a monthly giving community passionate about restoring hope to the most vulnerable. Your sponsorship enables us to rescue at-risk children and bring them through an individualized reunification plan so they can be successfully reunited with their family.
Our Zoe Ministries sponsorship program is unlike most! Why? Because each orphaned and vulnerable child we serve has a unique story and need, so we customize each sponsorship for every child we serve. One size does not fit all. When you invest in a child’s life through Zoe Ministries, you support a program that loves and exist to be an example of Jesus. We seek to advance transformative, family-based solutions for every child in crisis in Kenya.
Joshua came into our care in 2018 after being abandoned by his mother. Through our child sponsor program, Joshua is thriving in school and receiving the love of a family through our alternative family care model. For children like Joshua, reunification remains our ultimate goal.
Triza and her siblings were orphaned in 2022 after losing both parents in a roadside accident. Because of our child sponsor program, Triza has been able to remain living with her biological family through our family preservation efforts. Our child sponsors carry the educational burden for Triza so her family doesn’t have to.
Jane was orphaned at a young age due to illnesses. She came into our alternative family care program in 2018 but was reintegrated back into her biological family in early 2023. Because of our child sponsor program, Jane’s family has been empowered to be able to best care for her and she’s being provided a quality education. Jane is thriving!
Maria was abandoned shortly after birth along a Kenyan roadside in 2020. In March of 2023, she was fostered by a local Kenyan family. Today, our child sponsor program helps Maria’s foster family provide quality care for her on a daily basis.
Through your sponsorship of $40 or more a month, you can help win the battle of getting orphaned children home.
Depending on their need, a child may receive total support sponsorship where they live in a family-style children’s home in Zoe Ministries’ land with caregivers and other “Zoe siblings.” Children may also remain living with their biological families and receive family support sponsorship to go to school, receive counseling, and experience discipleship opportunities. Family support sponsorship enables families to stay together and allow parents to provide for the basic needs of their children. In both circumstances, children thrive through support of their sponsors.
On average, the children of Zoe have three sponsors. Depending on how many segments of care each child needs, he or she could have between 1-3 sponsors working together to empower the child. We believe it takes a village to sponsor each child.
Within 14 days of you beginning to sponsor a child, you’ll receive a welcome packet with everything you need to begin your sponsorship journey with Zoe. This includes a photo and brief information about your child, and other resources.
Zoe Ministries sponsorship program last the duration of the child’s educational career. You can discontinue your sponsorship at any time, but we ask you prayerfully consider committing to at least two years of continuous sponsorship. Many of our children aspire to attain a college degree, and many aspire to learn a trade and own their own small business.
After your sponsor child graduates from our program, you can choose to sponsor another child and continue to create lasting, positive change for children in Kenya. You will be notified before your sponsor child is expected to graduate.
We believe that every child that enters our sponsor program has the right to share their story on their own terms. This is essential to empowerment. The information you receive in your sponsorship packet has been approved by our Zoe Ministries staff to share with only you as a sponsor.
Healthy giving is essential to the Zoe Ministries model. While well-intentioned, gifts often disempower our children, undermining their progress and causing lots of problems for each child, school, family, and other children. If you become aware of a special need outside the scope of your monthly sponsorship, we’d love to help you give in a healthy way. If you have further questions around our gift giving policy, please contact us.
Children are either matched to Zoe Ministries by Kenyan government officials or are brought under Zoe Ministries’ care for temporary emergency placement from our child development team in Kenya. Several factors lead to an orphaned or vulnerable child being brought into our care including abuse, abandonment, neglect, death of a parent(s), or extreme poverty. While each child’s story is different, reunification, fostering, and local adoption remains our ultimate goal.
Zoe Ministries child sponsorship program exist to preserve family structures and prevent unnecessary family separation. That means coming alongside at-risk children and families and walking with them in their journey towards stability, wholeness, and independence. Sponsoring a child through Zoe Ministries helps change the orphan care narrative.
Sponsorship is $40 per month and is a monthly, recurring donation. The easiest way to donate is online with a credit or debit card. We can also set up recurring withdrawals from your checking or savings account. If you prefer to pay by check, you may mail your donations to: Zoe Ministries, P.O. Box 2029, Cleveland, MS 38732
100% of all sponsorship donations go directly to provide for our children and direct barriers that may keep them separated from their families. Each sponsor helps ensure that each orphaned and vulnerable child we serve in placed in a loving family, either onsite at Zoe, or with biological family. Your sponsorship will guarantee that the child you sponsor is enrolled in school and has access to quality education. Your decision to sponsor one child helps create a ripple effect for your sponsor child and their immediate family. Most importantly, your sponsorship gives your child the opportunity to learn about Jesus and be encouraged through our discipleship programming.
While true cost of care for a sponsor segment often exceeds $40/month, we offer sponsorship opportunities for a minimum of $40/month per segment of care. Sponsors may choose to cover between 1-3 segments for each child.
