“Clean water has created a platform for me to reach unreached communities with the good news of Christ.”
Pastor John is one of the most vital members of our team in Kenya. Our technicians often say, “We open the door for Pastor John!” Our entire team knows how important he is to achieving our mission of bringing hope to the lost.
Nearly 2 years ago we met a local West Pokot pastor who we believed was faithfully serving his people. He spent each day riding around on his motorbike sharing with anyone who would listen. Often times, he was under a tree trying his best to get out of the harsh Pokot heat. He told our team earlier this year, “Resistance to the Gospel used to make me believe I wasn’t making an impact. I was very close to giving up.”
Pastor John’s resources were limited, but we knew his heart was sharing hope to those of West Pokot. In 2022, our team began training John and providing him with print material, Bibles, and fuel. Today, he spends his time meeting with communities and training other pastors from the communities our Repair Team visits.
“Pastor John has been instrumental in building relationships as we do outreach. He speaks the local language and delivers the Gospel to unreached people so well.” - Paul, Country Director Kenya
We asked Pastor John, “What are you most thankful for?” He told us, “I’m thankful for Zoe Ministries helping me achieve my goal of preaching the Gospel and making disciples for Christ!” As we continue our efforts rehabilitating broken water systems, our ultimate goal remains to simply be the “door opener” for Pastor John and those like him.
Thank you for helping Pastor John make disciples amongst his own people.
“Beadwork has given me hope. I now wake up with something to long for and it has allowed me to provide for my children.”
“Farming has brought a big difference in my life. Last year, I didn’t farm because I didn’t have the proper knowledge. This year, my children and I have food.”
“We pray our new church in Chawoi will foster unity and change in our community and more people will come to know Christ.” - Dorcas, Chawoi Community Member
